1. Is Failure a Bad or Good Thing? Why?

In my opinion, failure is a good thing.More often than not, I’m failing at something. Though I’d like more than anything to hide my failures, it’s never easy to do. Failure comes when you expect it the least and lingers longer than you’d ever like. But if I’ve learned anything in life, it’s that I should embrace failure. Why is failure good? I’ve come up with a few reasons.

Past failures prepare you for future successes. It’s the old adage, “Learn from your mistakes”. Failures help you realize what didn’t work, so you can find what will work. And think about it…when your down, there’s no place to go, but up. Let your failures be your greatest teachers.

Failures are the best sobriety tests. Look failure in the eye (and never forget to see yourself). Not saying that you are the failure, but in the same regard don’t turn your head when failure holds up the mirror of truth. For the proud, it really does bring you down to size. It helps you realize that you are nothing apart from God and can do nothing without Him. Let it be a litmus test of your humanity.

2. The Benefits of Computers in Education

Nowadays, many schools are equipped with computers for educating their students. Thereby making computers an integral part of education system. Teachers and professors use computers for teaching, giving presentations, assessing various data banks, maintaining database of students, communication in the form of e mails or chat, browsing the Internet and preparing students to have a competitive edge in the global job market.

Computers have revolutionized the learning for students in a big way. They can watch various films on wild life, history, geography, science and encyclopedias with great sound and excellent picture quality and commentaries on Compact Disc’s or DVD’s.

The use of computers and technology in education has changed the learning process of the people in several ways and helped them to enhance their education process in a very short period of time. Moreover Internet has changed the way people work by giving them an access to various information on any subject be it any product, research or any other technical information. It has also changed the way people use to communicate by overcoming hassles of the traditional mail or phone with the use of emails and chats or voice chats which are simple and very effective. Internet has also reduced the gap in the teaching process. Now with the use of internet we can have many online courses that are offered my teachers who are located across boundaries who give training through video conferencing thereby giving a personal touch to individuals who prefer to have a class room coaching but cannot afford to leave their current location.

8. The Art of Making Friends

To make a friend you have to be a friend. Listening to people is a great way to make friends. Don’t you like people more when they listen to you and are concerned about what you have to say? Active listening is important. When your friends speak, do not listen passively with an occasional yeah and uh huh, as you wait for them to inhale so you can tell them about how your life and experience is related to what they just said, and then take over the conversation.

10. Mobile Phones: a Love –Hate Relationship

You must agree that almost everyone you know owns a mobile phone, but not everyone actually find accessories such as the Bluetooth mobile headset a good addition or investment for their beloved device. Those who do, swear by it but those who abhor using it will supply a thousand and one reasons about why getting a Bluetooth mobile headset is a complete waste of time. Studying abroad lets you learn about other cultures, make new friends, and develop tangible career benefits.

You can develop real competitive advantages over students who never venture abroad to study, including
Improved foreign language skills.
A more cosmopolitan, international perspective.
Greater tolerance for other opinions.
Ability to think more originally and to see more than one perspective on an issue.
Greater self-reliance and self-confidence.

12. Part Time Jobs: Good or Bad for College Students

--------------------------------------------13. The Importance of Self-confidence

Self Confidence is the basis of all achievement.Great things are seldom achieved without necessary confidence. All the skills and efforts possible are useless if confidence is lacking. Low confidence halts your steps and you cannot take initiative. Low self confidence paralyzes both the body and mind at the time of making decision. It leaves you undecided and the undecided are swept away. There is no place for the undecided in this world where success is worshipped, and success seldom comes to someone who is undecided. As the old saying goes, you must stand for something or you will fall for anything – and it’s your confidence that holds you together or breaks you apart.

14. An Ideal Teacher

A good teacher is one who plays an effective role of a facilitator–a facilitator who is able to help children set their goals and provide them a compass of values along with education to guide them towards their goal.

“Each facilitator is unique just as each child is unique”. Facilitators are pivot in education. Ideal facilitators are those whom we respect from our heart. This respect depends on the rapport established between the facilitators and the students. Ideal facilitators motivate students and boost their morale. In addition, they encourage students, refrain from criticizing them and motivate them positively. Ideal
facilitators are our friend, guide, educator, confidante–all rolled into one. Such facilitators build the whole life of the students.

Therefore, everyone in this world should be blessed with an ideal facilitator. Facilitators play an important role in molding and shaping the personality of students. Students imitate the dress, habit, manners and style of their facilitator. Facilitators should be able to impart lessons in such a manner that a student’s aesthetic development should also be groomed along with their intellectual development; in fact, facilitators should be able to take care of the holistic development of the students. For students, facilitators should be ‘everything’– A care taker providing them their requirements, a mother showering love and affection, a father providing them a sense of security, a moralist assisting and encouraging them to acquire goodness and purity, a doctor concerned about their physical health and an artist motivating them to find beauty in life.

1.Is Failure a Bad Thing?
1. 失败是常有的事。
2. 人们对失败有各种态度、。
3. 我对失败的态度。
Failure is not a stranger to life. It can happen anywhere, anytime and to anyone. No person succeeds all the time. The more development you want to make, the more failure you might encounter. So, people are faced with failure now and then.
There are different attitudes towards failure. Some people are afraid of failure and they can not bear the blow of failure, so they stay where they are and try to not to mike progress. Some optimists, however, fight against failure bravely and achieve all his aims at last.
My attitude is that we aren’t afraid of failure. When we meet with failure, we don’t lose heart. We should call up all our courage and persist in what you are engaged in. Remember the proverb: Where there is a will, there is a way.

2.The Benefits of Computers in Education
This chapter first describe the types of benefits that education is expected to produce, among which including the potential increase in individual productivity and income, the immediate and future increase in consumption, other direct effects, external benefits, and possible intergenerational benefits. In all it would appear that the benefits from a given educational investment are quite large. Different methods have been presented in this chapter to determine the quantitative significance of such benefits-namely, the correlation method, the residual approach, and primarily, the returns to education approach. Any of those methods is subuject to a host of conceptual and statistical problems. An attempt was made to describe these difficulties and, when feasibe, to suggest possible solutions. Prominent among these problems is the question of the impact of ability upon earnings or productivity. Several different possible solutoins were listed the treatment of education, ability, and income. Other problems involve such matters as the use of cross-section versus life cycle data, the identification of the "investment "and "consumption" components, the question of quality versus quantity of educational programmes, and other concepual or statistic difficulties.

Since this chapter did not take into account of the cost of education, no conclusions as to the profitability of education an as yet be made. The focus of next chapter will, therefor, be on the costs of education.

3.The Differences between Universities and Middle Schools
Nowadays, with the development of science and technology, more and more people want to study abroad. There are students from colleges and universities, from the middle schools, from the primary schools, and people from all walks of life. What difference does it make between studying abroad and studying home ?

Though many students are crazy about going abroad to pursue their higher education, I think studying home is preferable. For one thing, you don’t have to take foreign language tests such as TOEFL and GRE . This can save you a tremendous amount of time, money and effort, allowing much of your energy to be devoted to your academic foals. In addition, if you study home ,you can stay with your family and old friends. Meanwhile , while studying home ,you can enjoy the kind of intimate friendship and comfortable family atmosphere which you can only dream of in a foreign university , where you will be accompanied by your own shadow most of the time. For these reasons, pursuing one’s higher education at home is a more realistic and sensible choice.

4.GOOD health
The desire for good health is universal. Especially nowadays, the possession of good health is regarded by nearly every one as essential to a happy life as well as a successful one. Only in good shape can you expect to live comfortably or work ef fectively. In contrast, without good health, ambitious and promising as a person may be, he will eventually turn out to be a wreckage of modern life.
How to stay healthy, then? First, enough time should be set aside for perse vering in exercises in addition to sleep and rest. Second, you must give up the habits that damage your health, such as smoking and drinking too much alcohol. Finally, be sure to have your physical checkup regularly. Whenever you are found to haveany disease, you should have it timely treated.
As for me, I have always been taking care to have proper sleep and relaxation. I have also been alert to any discomfort in my body. In my spare time I like running, swimming, and playing table tennis. So, I can keep fit and pursue my career with great facility.
