杨惠中提要:我国大部分大学生在进入大学时已经学了近十年的英语。他们掌握了英语基本语法和一定量的英语单词,具备了初步的英语阅读能力,但是英语听说能力相对较弱,尚不能从连贯的英语口语语流中获取信息,更难用英语准确、流利、得体地表达自己的思想。为了适应改革开放的需要,他们提高英语听说能力的心情非常迫切。本文讨论了提高英语听说能力需要注意的几个问题,包括语言交际功能与语言形式的关系、领会能力与产出能力的关系、学习和运用预构成语块和会话策略的重要性,并提出用仿说练习建立说地道英语的信心。本文还对视听说教材的编写原则提出了建议。关键词:英语听说能力;教材开发;教学法Abstract: Upon entering universities, most Chinese students have been learning English for about 10 years. They have learned basic English grammar and common English words. They have preliminary English reading ability, but their English speaking and listening ability is relatively weak. They do not yet have the ability to extract information from fluent English speech flow, not to mention the ability to express themselves accurately, fluently and appropriately in English. To meet the needs of international communication, they have a strong desire to learn to speak English. This paper discusses issues concerning the teaching and learning of English speaking and listening abilities, especially the relationship between communicative functions and language forms, the relationship between receptive ability and productive ability, the importance of learning pre fabricated chunks and conversational strategies, and the role of guided speaking in helping students to communicate confidently and fluently in English.
